Just recently, God gave me a message using my kitten, and He wants me to share it with you. Keep on knocking.
We have a door to our stairway that we keep closed. We used to keep it open at night so our pets could come up and down as they please. When we acquired a new kitten unexpectedly this past summer, we needed to start keeping the door closed to the upstairs bedrooms. We did this because kittens tend to be a little wild, especially at night. Also, we needed to make sure she knew where the litter box was, and so that we could get some uninterrupted sleep.
The Door
This door we have is a full view glass door with panes, so we can see down the stairs through the door. We started letting her up after a while, as she became more accustomed to everything, and to the other pets in the house. Often times, we have to send her down because she’s being a little too mischievous, and she will sometimes sleep in the main level of the house.
She loves to be near us, so she just wants to be where we are at all times. She will come up to the door and start pawing at the glass so it looks like she is washing windows. It’s really cute actually. But sometimes, she will be pawing at that door so hard, that it sounds like she is knocking at the door. The knocking will get so loud, and she is so persistent that she will just keep doing it as long as it takes for someone to either open the door, or come down there with her.
Jesus said to me as she was doing this:
“See how persistent she is? She just keeps knocking until you go down there. She knows that if she keeps seeking and knocking, someone will answer. That is how I want you to be with Me. I want you to be so persistent with your seeking and knocking, that you don’t leave or give up until you get an answer. I need you to seek Me so wholeheartedly, knowingly having faith that I WILL answer.”
Matthew 7:7-8
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
This was such a cute way for Jesus to speak to me, and get His point across of what He needed to say. A very persistent kitten. Don’t Give Up
Don’t give up on seeking the Lord. Even when it sometimes feels like He is not listening, or you feel like He is not there. He IS there, and ALWAYS listening. Be persistent. As He said. I know sometimes I would have sought Him out for an answer, but I wasn’t persistent enough to feel like I was going to receive an answer right away. I would either forget that I asked Him, or just gave up prematurely. Don’t give up. He wants to help us. Persistence is power. Prayer is power. Persistent prayer is power. Keep knocking and seeking and He WILL answer. He is always with us and will never leave us. We might not get an answer right away when we expect it, but we WILL get an answer on God’s timing. He always comes through no matter what. He is faithful and true.
I pray this encouraged someone today. Place your trust in your Father. He loves you so very much.
