The other night as I was getting ready for bed, the Lord gave me a revelation. He was showing me how much He loves us.
I think many of us, especially as Christians, know that God loves us so much. But, when it’s put into a perspective like He showed me, it just proves His love even more for us.
God was showing me that not only did He send His Son to die on the cross for our sins, but the time leading up to that of being tortured, whipped, mocked, all of the horrendous things. He did that for us. HE gave up HIS life for US.
Holy Spirit
And now His Spirit, when you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, lives within us as children of God. He is with us every single step of the way. Not only through just being here with us, even though we can’t see Him, but He feels every single thing that we go through mentally and physically. He goes through our battles with us. He experiences all the pain and suffering that we go through.
Every negative thing we say about ourselves, or negative thoughts we have about ourselves, He feels it. Every hurtful thing that is done to our bodies, He feels it. When we don’t take care of our bodies, do dumb things to it, harm it, He feels it. When we eat things that are bad for us, or eat too much, or when we have no self-control and just want to feed our flesh with food or any worldly things. He feels it. Any sicknesses, He feels it. He goes through it all with us. All of it.
Now multiply this by how many people are in this world that are God’s children. He is omnipresent, so He is everywhere all at once. It’s something that our brains cannot really comprehend the HOW on this.
He Feels Everything
He feels every single pain, tear, sadness, anger, joy from every one of us as He is living in us. What He went through on the cross should be more than enough, and yet He is still going through the muddy waters with us. No matter what. With Each and Every one of us. Some of us not even knowing it whatsoever.
He loves us so much that not only did He suffer and die for us 2000 years ago, but He continues to go through everything with us each day of our lives, times how many billion people on this earth.
How much does He love us that He is willing to go through all of this pain, that a lot of the times we just do to ourselves?
Our Temple
It says in the Bible that we are to take care of our temple. Our body. It is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It’s our “house” while we are here on this earth. We need to respect it and love it, and we also need to be filled with love. He cannot reside in our “home” if we are filled with hate and evil.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 “Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So, you must honor God with your body.”
How much He did for us and continues to do for us is so vast. It shows His great love for us, and there is no measure for how much He loves us, its endless.
If someone is doing that for us, why are we willingly doing things to harm our bodies? Why are we willingly saying or thinking negative things about ourselves? Why are we allowing the enemy to have any kind of say over us? We were BOUGHT with a HIGH price. That should not be taken lightly.
Allow Holy Spirit To Take Over
God really wants us to overcome this and really allow His Spirit to take over. We will still have battles as long as we are in this world, but He wants us to understand HOW much of Him is actually here going through it all with us. God wants us to be healed and healthy. He doesn’t want us to carry heavy burdens that were never meant for us to carry.
He wants us to take up our cross and follow Him. There are too many distractions in this world that lead everyone astray from what the truth is, and so many are suffering even more because of it.
God loves us so much that He sent His SON here, God Himself in the flesh, to experience a human life (without sin), to experience the pain and feelings that we go through here. Then, HE dies a cruel death on the cross for US, for these sins that HE knew we would commit, and STILL chooses to go through it with each and every one of us day in and day out.
Matthew 16:24-26 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me. If you try to hang onto your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
He Never Gives Up
He never gives up on us and continues to pursue us no matter what. That is an unfailing love. We may not physically see it while we are here, but He is doing it. We are to walk by faith, and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). His love never fails us (1 Corinthians 13:8) (Psalms 136:1), and we might not understand the things that we have had to go through, or are currently going through, but one day it will all make sense. We are called to take up our cross daily and follow Him.
We need to trust that He has a plan for us. It is to prosper us, and not to harm us. For He loves us so much. Do you SEE how much HE loves us?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
